Incorporated on 1st August, 1991, Naraingarh Sugar Mills Limited (NSML) has been promoted in the assisted sector in participation with HSIDC and HAIC.
The Company set up its first industrial venture of a sugar mill with a crushing capacity of 2500 tons crushing per day (TCD) along with co-generation of power of 5 MW in 1996 involving a capital outlay of Rs.4190 lacs. During the financial year 2006-07, the company increased its installed capacity from 2500 to 4000 TCD.
During the first half of the current financial year 2008-09, there was major reshuffling in the composition of board of directors and shareholding of the company. Three new directors were appointed w.e.f 3.11.2008, out of which two directors namely Mr. Onkar Anand and Mr. Jitendra Anand have been appointed as Vice chairman and Executive Director respectively.
Anands’ have had a long association with sugar industry in various capacities. Mr. Jitendra Anand has a rich experience of over 35 years in operations management of various sugar mills. Therefore, his vast experience and knowledge makes him an integral part of the management to efficiently steer the operations of the company. Mr. Onkar Anand also has a credible experience of 32 years in international commodity trading and his rich international exposure would facilitate the company in its various strategic endeavours.
Today, the mill has an installed capacity of 4000 TCD along with cogeneration of 5 MW besides in house storage facilities, residential complexes & recreational facilities spread over 57 acres. The command area of the mill comprises of approx. 11000 hectares in 350 villages giving it access to sugarcane from the cane fields. The Company also owns an agricultural land admeasuring 64 acres for development of sugarcane seed. The mill operations are supported by permanent staff of approx. 140 persons and extend to around 350 persons with admittance of casual labour during the sugar season.
